Skating once again!

We finally got some snow down here in good 'ol Northfield, so we decided to go skating in St. Paul! As it turned out... either the snow didn't even hit St. Paul, or it melted before we were there to see its beauty. Either way, it was still a beautiful day. Skating anywhere is very exciting to me, and being with all those people and hearing the new sounds of the big city was even more invigorating. We had quite a lot of fun after attempting to enjoy ourselves in the jam packed Mall of America for a few hours. It was an eventful day, considering we started out at noon... A wee bit later than expected, but no harm was done. My winter break is slowly coming to an end, but I try to enjoy every minute of it while I can.

Hope all had a beautiful, happy Friday!

Happy Tuesday!

Family & Friends are great

Gee wiz, Christmas is already over! It's sad to say, but honestly this year it did not feel like Christmas. I miss the times when I wake up at 6 am, yelling and giggling forcing my parents to awake.  I miss jumping on Samara's bed, in hope of her remembering this precious day. I miss the years when there were bites from your cookies, and a large sip of milk was left in its jar. The years when my smile would reach the top of my cheeks in excitement of all the gifts hidden beneath the tree. I miss Santa. But more importantly, I miss when all I had to do was run down the hall to Samara's room. Now she lives a state away... Although I now appreciate every moment we spend together. This year two Erics were part of the Thompson family. It's a happy time, Christmas. Everyone is all smiles and happiness. Too bad snow wasn't a part of the holidays, but it was quite nice to not be frozen when walking from the car... yes I become spoiled after these warm 37 degree days. I hope all had a wonderful Christmas!

Haha!

Playing cards! WOO! Nice gift Grammy!

A little sleepy from all the excitement.

As well as a holiday, I also get to enjoy a few days off from school. In the mean time, I get to spend wonderful time with the loveliest friends EVER. They're great:)

LOVE them with all my heart.

OH and the best part of this winter break, I GOT A CAMERA!! Thank you so much Daddy!

Even though it's a brown Christmas...

Yes, sadly Northfield and most of Minnesota is without snow. This will be my first brown Christmas, and am quite disappointed, but somewhat relieved... Travels are much easier without the powder that makes us all groan when we are forced to drive 30 mph on the freeway. But hey, as long as the sun is shinning, I am utterly content. The earth seems somewhat cold enough to keep the skating rinks frozen, which excites me. Although I am not the best skater, it is still something to do around here, small town Northfield. Today, my friends and I went ice skating. It was terrific! (some photos to document the fun.. :))

we've become professionals...

Gosh she is beautiful.

Happy Tuesday!

I will admit I'm lacking on the "every day" part of this blog.... But am willing to fill this puppy up with some fresh posts!

Life has been very predictable with school. Teachers are piling up the homework, preparing us for our tests that they always manage to cram into the last week before break. Luckily, (again with the copying of my sissy! ) I am in love with my planner. Thank you Samara for addicting me to colorful pens, post-it notes, and organization.

Speaking of that cute, little dumplin'... SHE GRADUATES THIS SATURDAY. WOOO!

My feelings upon this accomplishment:

excited. encouraged. horrified. applauding. blown away. eager. sad. amazed. grateful. appreciative. thankful.

EXTREMELY proud of YOU Samara! You are loved by many!

As I continue to write  on my beloved Mac, and being that we live next to a busy four-way intersection, I heard 4 firetrucks, 2 ambulances, and 4 police cars zoom by. Panic initially hit me, wondering who's life was about to change forever. I am tremendously appreciative that I have never experienced a horrific event like a car accident.

On a more happy note, Ski Club started Monday! Woo! So much fun. I decided to ski considering I am lacking a snowboard... :) It was exhilarating how much faster I could go and more control I had. The night was beautiful and perfect for skiing. Around 30 degrees and no wind! How thankful we were once we realized how ridiculous it was when we wanted to take off our jackets, and admitted how warm we felt.

We set up the tree at Dad's house and prepared for the Thompson Family Christmas he willingly accepted.  The house is now bright and cheery and full of colors.

Have a wonderful Tuesday to ALL!
